Scientists at Sechenov University have developed a flexible biosensor device , a kind of ” heart patch ” that could help cardiologists remotely monitor malfunctions in a patient’s heart and quickly prescribe an effective treatment. This was announced yesterday by the university’s press service:
Even today, a simple single-channel ECG “cardio-patch” system is able to recognize various arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation, which increases the risk of stroke by 5-6 times. And the developed algorithms for monitoring the contractile function of the heart will make it possible to diagnose and evaluate the course of heart failure, – quotes the press service of the director of the Institute of Personalized Medicine of Sechenov University, Professor Philip Kopylov .
It should be noted that the technological phase of the work on the “heart patch” has been completed, in 2023 it will undergo preclinical testing, and in 2024 it will be introduced into medical practice.
