Coins of the Roman Empire found on the coasts of the Baltic Sea and it is immediately a mystery

During excavations in Gotska Sandön , a team of researchers found two silver coins from the Roman Empire :

This area is located in the center of the Baltic Sea on the border of Sweden , a place quite far from what was the Roman Empire, so the discovery was very special. Previously, always in the same area, the researchers had found other artifacts such as seal bones, cow scraps, other coins and a battle glove:

More recently, in March 2023 these two coins were found , real Roman Denari. The first dates back to the time of Emperor Trajan, in power in the years 98 and 117 AD The second coin, instead linked to the reign of Antoninus Pius, who died in 161. The marine archeology professor at the University of Södertörn Johan Rönnby underlines: “ Yes These are exciting discoveries that raise several questions.”

Now scholars are trying to understand how those finds got there, perhaps a shipwreck on the beach? A series of hearths and remains of fireplaces have also been found along the beach, what is the reality of the facts? Further research is planned throughout 2023 to understand why those coins were there.
